Scott Nordgren takes pride in his role as the K-9 Training Director and decoy of the Cincinnati chapter of the Protection Sport Association (PSA). PSA focuses on real life protection situations, including suspect apprehension, disarmament, patrol work, personal protection and obedience. Scott has won multiple PSA titles with his own Doberman, Caesar.

Scott first became interested in Police K-9 training while proudly serving his country in the United States Army in the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82ndAirborne Division. His time in the military taught Scott the importance of discipline, hard work and effective communication. These lessons are integral to Scott’s police dog training philosophy.

After being honorably discharged from the Army in 1999, Scott returned to Cincinnati to pursue his lifetime dream of working with police dogs. He began his career as a dog trainer by apprenticing under a Master Trainer. Scott gained experience in all aspects of police dog training, including obedience, patrol and detection work. After a few years, Scott became the manager and head trainer of the dog training facility. In addition to running the school and training dogs and their handlers, he was also responsible for training all new staff and kennel personnel.

In 2007, Scott decided to focus on his own dog training philosophy by starting ‘Professional In Home Dog Training’ to offer a more personal, at home dog training experience. ‘Professional In Home Dog Training’ specializes in behavior modification, obedience, and personal protection. Scott also does demonstrations with his dog Caesar at local schools and community events.




 

 

 

Mic Foster has been training dogs professionally since 1998. Mic began his training career in Bloomington, Indiana, while attending Indiana University. His first 3 years of experience were at a private facility owned by US military personnel. During this time Mic learned the ins and outs of obedience, personal protection, patrol, tracking, explosives and narcotics police dog training.

After graduation Mic moved to Cincinnati, opened Last Resort K-9 Academy and changed his focus to training pet dogs. During this time he dealt mainly with aggressive dogs, managing separation anxiety, personal protection and teaching advanced obedience. Mic also opened the Pet Athletic Club in August of 2006 to offer wider array of services to his training clients.

Mic has done a number of radio, TV, and speaking engagements on the topics of dog training and behavior modification, and is in the process of writing a book on current/effective dog training methods. Mic is an expert in training police/military dogs for K-9 patrol and K-9 tracking and frequently gives seminars on these topics.

Mic currently enjoys doing all aspects of training and is actively learning the sports of PSA, French Ring, and Mondio Ring. Mic is the current president of Southern Ohio Protection Sports, and recently received first place at the PSA Regional Championship. Mic received High Obedience, High Protection and First Place in the PSA1 division.
